Best Ball Samuel Hollander

S. Samuel Hollander founded Concept One International in 1989, drawing on a comprehensive business background that included retail, wholesale, distribution, manufacturing, sourcing, sales and marketing. As president of Majestic Industries’ Consumer Products Division, Hollander set up an importing program, supervised overseas manufacturing and gained licenses from Major League Baseball for the company’s retail product line.

At Concept One International, Hollander manufactured licensed products for such clients as Major League Baseball, the National Football League, and NASCAR, as well as creating product lines for mass market retailers including Wal-Mart, Kmart, and Office Depot.

Concept One has focused on the direct response and retail industries, developing a series of products that incorporate the insights and experience of Joseph Signorile, Ph.D., Professor of Exercise Physiology at the University of Miami, School of Education and Human Development.

Dr. Signorile’s research concentrates on developing exercise testing procedures and training programs to address a broad spectrum of the population. Currently, he is the principal investigator on targeted exercise studies for older men and women, persons with Parkinson’s disease, children with cerebral palsy, and recreational and collegiate athletes. He has collaborated with community partners to develop unique yoga programs for improving balance, power, body composition, and metabolic syndrome as well as with university associates to validate a movement-based transitional health and nutrition program for grammar school children plus a unique exercise intervention for patients with schizophrenia. Most recently, Dr. Signorile has developed an agility-based executive function test, which is serving as the foundation for the creation of motor-learning and education-based multi-directional training programs applicable across multiple populations.

Dr. Signorile is the co-author of The South Beach Diet Supercharged: Faster Weight Loss and Better Health for Life with Dr. Arthur Agatston (2009) and author of Bending the Aging Curve: The Complete Exercise Guide for Older Adults (2011), which has now been translated into Chinese, Korean, and Italian. In addition, he has written more than 75 referred articles and book chapters, 150 published abstracts and given countless national and international presentations at scientific meetings.
